Surprise Grandma and Grandpa

Alicia, Dakota, and I decided to pay a surprise visit to Mom and Dad in Massachusetts. They had been mopey all week because they thought that none of their children were coming for Christmas. Surprise! I loved the look of excitement on mom's face as they answered the door.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Smile

Dakota was weighed today and he is 8lbs 3.5oz. He was 7lbs 10oz last thursday. He will be 3 weeks today. I can't believe he is already that old. Oh yes and for the first time today I got him to smile at me while we was awake and looking at me. The only other time he has smiled was while he was still asleep after feeding. Probably just a fluke because he didn't do it again, but it was so cute.

Up All Night

So the past few nights Dakota has been very good with sleeping at night. I feed him around midnight and then he sleeps about 4 hours until the next feeding. So I get a little sleep before doing it all over again. I thought we had a good thing going. But he had his own plans last night. Last night I feed him @ 11pm and then tried to put him down, but he kept me up until his next feeding around 1am. But then he still didn't go to sleep until around 2:45am. So I finally got to sleep. But he had stayed awake from 8pm to when he finally went to sleep. This was the first time he had kept me up at night like that, and I know it won't be the last.

Tharon's First Whitetail

Friday afternoon I got this little buck with my shotgun. Lots of fun, but butchering in our apartment and grinding the meat on our new processor was a little more complicated and time consuming than expected. This week was finals week as well. My grades will definitely suffer between the hours spent hunting and butchering, and Dakota keeping us up late.
Dakota and mommy are doing well. He likes sleeping when he should be eating and cry whimper at night when he should be . . . sleeping. He looks older and wiser by the day and still has that great baby smell and cuddly touch.
